Level 1 (6 - 12 months) |
Perfect for babies aged 6–12 months, this level focuses on gentle water familiarisation and building early confidence. With parent support, your child will explore safe entries and exits, experience assisted glides and back floats, and begin simple movements like kicking and crawling in the water. Through fun, interactive activities, they’ll gain comfort in the water while taking their first steps towards independence. |
|
Level 2 (1 - 3 years) |
Designed for children aged 1 to 3 years, this level builds on early water confidence while introducing longer breath holds, submersion, and more independent movement. Your child will glide, float, and paddle with minimal support, practice safe entries and exits, and explore basic water safety skills, all in a playful and encouraging environment. This level is about developing independence while keeping the experience fun and engaging. |
|
Level 3 (2 - 3 years) |
For confident young swimmers ready to take the next step with minimal parent assistance, this level focuses on independence, skill refinement, and water safety. Children will confidently enter and exit the pool, glide and turn underwater, float, kick, paddle, and jump with minimal help, and safely use flotation aids to retrieve objects. Level 3 prepares your child for more advanced swimming while continuing to build confidence and enjoyment in the water. |

Little Discoverer (3 - 5 Years)
Our pre-school swim program is designed for children aged 3–5 years who are ready to explore the water independently. Children develop confidence, buoyancy, and floatation skills while learning essential water safety and deep-water awareness. Each level builds on the last, guiding young swimmers from confident movement in shallow water to independent swimming, underwater exploration, and basic survival skills.
| Level | Class description | Enrol |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Ideal for beginners, focuses on building confidence and comfort in the water. Children will learn to move independently through shallow water, monkey crawl along the wall, blow bubbles, float on their back with support, and glide with assistance. Basic kicking, jumping, and treading water activities introduce independence in a fun and supportive environment, while teachers help them begin to understand water safety concepts. | Broadmeadows |
| Level 2 | Designed for swimmers gaining confidence with face-in-water activities and basic kicking. Children will submerge fully, retrieve toys from shallow water with support, float and rotate between front and back with an aid, and glide independently using a board. Kicking and paddling skills are strengthened, and early deep-water experiences are introduced, along with basic survival and water safety awareness. | Broadmeadows |
| Level 3 | For confident young swimmers ready to move without flotation aids, Level 3 focuses on independent movement, stroke introduction, and underwater exploration. Children will glide and float independently, swim short distances using torpedo and freestyle techniques, kick on their back, tread water unassisted, and practice controlled deep-water entries. Survival skills, such as calling for help and assisting safely, are introduced to build awareness and confidence in deeper water. | Broadmeadows |
| Level 4 | For confident pre-school swimmers refining strokes and building deep-water skills. Children will swim freestyle with side breathing, backstroke, and glide efficiently without aids, retrieve objects from deep water, tread water for extended periods, and perform safe deep-water entries. Survival skills, including throw rescues and calling for help, are integrated into lessons, ensuring children are confident, capable, and safe in the water. |
Big Achievers (5 - 12 Years)
Our Big Achievers program is designed for school-aged children from five years and up, guiding swimmers from beginner skills through to confident, independent swimming. Across seven progressive levels, children develop strong technique in all four strokes, improve endurance over longer distances, and build vital survival and deep-water skills. By the final levels, swimmers are capable, confident, and well prepared for squad pathways or a lifetime of safe, enjoyable swimming.
| Level | Class description | Enrol |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Ideal for beginners who are still building confidence, Level 1 focuses on water familiarisation and independence. Swimmers learn to move independently through the water using any comfortable style, float on their back with support, glide on front and back, and practice safe entries and exits. Treading water with assistance and basic water safety awareness are introduced, helping children feel safe, supported, and confident in the pool. |
Broadmeadows |
| Level 2 | For swimmers who can already move independently and are ready to build strength and control. Children learn to float without assistance, glide confidently on front and back, and develop strong kicking skills in both streamlined and back positions. Deep-water experiences are introduced to build confidence while reinforcing independence and body awareness in the water. |
Broadmeadows |
| Level 3 | Swimmers begin learning correct stroke foundations while strengthening deep-water competence. Freestyle arms and side breathing are introduced step-by-step, along with backstroke kicking and arm coordination. Children practice floating and rotating safely in deep water, controlled diving, and survival backstroke kicking. This level bridges confidence-based swimming into structured stroke development. | Broadmeadows |
| Level 4 | Focuses on refining technique and increasing endurance. Swimmers develop freestyle with side breathing, continuous backstroke, effective survival backstroke, and begin breaststroke leg action and timing. Deep-water survival sequences, underwater skills, and standing dives build confidence, strength, and control in more challenging aquatic environments. | Broadmeadows |
| Level 5 | For strong swimmers building efficiency, distance, and advanced control. Children swim longer distances with strong freestyle and backstroke technique, develop correct breaststroke timing, and learn sculling and body orientation skills. Survival sequences become more demanding, reinforcing endurance, calm decision-making, and safety awareness in deep water. | Broadmeadows |
| Level 6 | Refines advanced stroke technique and survival swimming. Swimmers complete longer freestyle and backstroke swims with improved breathing and efficiency, refine breaststroke timing, and develop butterfly dolphin kicking and sidestroke technique. Swimming in clothing, extended survival sequences, and search-and-rescue scenarios prepare swimmers for real-world water safety situations. | Broadmeadows |
| Level 7 | Prepares highly competent swimmers for advanced aquatic pathways. Swimmers demonstrate strong butterfly technique, complete continuous long-distance swims using tumble turns, and perform extended survival sequences in clothing without goggles. Advanced rescue skills and deep-water confidence ensure swimmers graduate from Big Achievers capable, confident, and ready for squads or lifelong safe swimming. | Broadmeadows |
