Level 1
Best for: Beginners who are less confident in the water and ready for water familiarisation and independence.
In this level, your child will learn to:
- Swim independently for short distances using any movement (e.g. dog paddle – technique not important yet)
- Float on their back with a noodle
- Glide on front and back with assistance
- Jump into the pool, turn around, swim back to the wall and climb out
- Tread water using a noodle
- Learn basic water safety awareness
Level 2
Best for: Swimmers who can move independently and are ready to build strength and confidence.
Your child can already:
- Float with assistance
- Swim short distances independently
In this level, your child will learn to:
- Float independently
- Glide on front and back without teacher assistance
- Kick in a streamlined “torpedo” position
- Kick on their back with correct body position
- Deep water skills
Level 3
Best for: Swimmers ready to start learning correct stroke technique.
Your child can already:
- Jump into deep water confidently
- Swim on their front and back 5 metres without a kickboard
- Float and tread water independently
In this level, your child will learn to:
- Rotate between front and back floating in deep water
- Begin freestyle arms and side breathing
- Kick correctly for backstroke
- Swim backstroke using arms and kick
- Learn survival backstroke kicking
- Deep water skills
Level 4
Best for: Swimmers developing strong technique and endurance.
Your child can already:
- Swim freestyle and backstroke short distances
- Tread water confidently
In this level, your child will learn to:
- Swim freestyle with side breathing
- Swim backstroke
- Survival backstroke
- Learn breaststroke leg action and timing
- Deep Water Skills
Level 5
Best for: Strong swimmers building speed, distance and rescue skills.
Your child can already:
- Swim freestyle and backstroke confidently
- Perform basic survival skills
In this level, your child will learn to:
- Swim freestyle 25m with strong kick and breathing
- Swim backstroke with correct technique and body rotation
- Swim breaststroke with correct timing
- Deep Water Skills
Level 6
Best for: Advanced swimmers refining technique and survival skills.
Your child can already:
- Swim multiple strokes confidently over longer distances
In this level, your child will learn to:
- Swim 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke
- Swim breaststroke
- Perform butterfly dolphin kick
- Learn sidestroke technique
- Develop tumble turn skills
Level 7
Best for: Highly competent swimmers preparing for advanced aquatic skills.
Your child can already:
- Swim all major strokes confidently
- Complete extended survival sequences
In this level, your child will learn to:
- Swim butterfly with correct technique (25m)
- Complete continuous swims:
- 100m Freestyle (with tumble turns)
- 100m Backstroke
- 50m Breaststroke
- Swim sidestroke
