Conditions of Entry and Use

General Conditions

  • All visitors must adhere to the directions and requests of Hume Leisure staff at all times to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all.
  • Smoking, vaping, and the consumption or presence of alcohol or illicit substances are strictly prohibited on the premises.
  • Any form of offensive language, harassment, aggression, spitting, or anti-social conduct will not be tolerated and may result in immediate eviction or suspension without refund.
  • You are expected to behave responsibly and take appropriate measures to protect your own wellbeing and that of others around you.
  • Hume Leisure reserves the right to close or restrict access to any area of the facility at any time without notice for operational, safety, or maintenance purposes.
  • Personal belongings are the sole responsibility of the owner; management will not be held liable for loss or damage.
  • Use of mobile phones within change rooms is strictly prohibited for privacy and safety reasons.
  • Photography or filming is not permitted without prior written consent from centre management.
  • Entry and participation in facility activities are undertaken at your own risk. By entering, you acknowledge and accept this condition.
  • We reserve the right to refuse entry or remove any individual who breaches these conditions of entry and use.
  • Hume City Council is indemnified from any claims, costs, or damages resulting from misuse or non-compliance with these terms.
  • Security measures, including bag inspections, may be conducted upon entry or exit for the safety of all patrons.

Health and Fitness Requirements

  • It is your responsibility to ensure you are medically fit to undertake physical activity. If uncertain, seek professional medical advice prior to participation.
  • All patrons must disclose any relevant personal, medical, or fitness information that could impact their safe use of facilities.
  • Do not use the facilities if you are suffering from any illness, condition, or injury that may pose a risk to yourself or others.

Supervision and Child Safety

  • Children must be actively supervised by a responsible adult at all times in accordance with the Watch Around Water policy.
  • Children under 5 must remain within arm’s reach of a guardian aged 16 years or older and wear a pink wristband provided by staff.
  • Children aged 5–9 must be constantly supervised within the facility and wear a yellow wristband provided by staff.
  • Children found without adequate supervision will be removed from the water until a guardian is present.

Gym and Group Fitness Areas

  • All patrons are expected to maintain hygiene and cleanliness by wiping down equipment after use with provided materials.
  • Bags and personal items are not permitted in free weight areas for safety reasons.
  • All group fitness classes must be pre-booked via the Humefit app or at the customer service desk.
  • Appropriate fitness attire is mandatory; socks are required for Reformer Pilates.
  • Late entry into fitness classes is not permitted to ensure participant safety and minimise disruption.
  • No food or sugary drinks allowed in workout areas. Only non-glass, spill-proof bottles containing water, protein shakes or sports drinks are permitted.
  • Children under 16 years are not permitted in gym or group fitness spaces unless enrolled in an approved program.

24/7 Gym Use

  • 24/7 access is strictly for members aged 18 years and over.
  • Weights must be returned to racks after use and should never be dropped to the floor.
  • Correct use of safety collars and gym equipment is mandatory. Seek staff guidance when needed.


Group Fitness and Studios

  • Follow all instructions provided by fitness instructors and adhere to the lateness policy for your safety and the comfort of other participants.
  • If you have a current or prior injury or condition, please inform your instructor before class begins to ensure appropriate modifications can be offered.

Waterslides

  • Minimum height for riders is 1.25 metres. Staff instructions must be followed at all times.
  • Loose items such as goggles, glasses, jewellery, and unsecured personal belongings are not permitted.
  • Photography or filming while on the slide is not allowed under any circumstances.

Aquatic Areas

  • Running in or around aquatic areas is strictly prohibited due to slippery surfaces and safety risks.
  • Children must be supervised in accordance with Watch Around Water guidelines. Staff will intervene where supervision is lacking.
  • Waterproof aqua nappies are required for babies and toddlers. Individuals with incontinence must wear appropriate swimwear.
  • All toilet or hygiene incidents must be reported immediately to staff for prompt sanitation.

Warm Water Pool

  • This pool is designated for low-impact exercise and rehabilitation. Lap swimming is not permitted.
  • Patrons under 16 years of age are not allowed unless they are enrolled in a medically-approved therapeutic program authorised by management.
  • Infants in arms are allowed under the condition they do not disrupt other users.

Spas, Sauna and Steam Room

  • Restricted to members and guests aged 16 years and over. Wristbands must be displayed when requested by staff.
  • Do not use these facilities under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Submersion of head in spa is not allowed.
  • Swimwear must be worn. Sweat suits, oils, and reading materials are not permitted.
  • All users must remain seated. Respectful behaviour is expected at all times.

Safe Usage

  • Consult a medical professional before use if pregnant, unwell, or on medication.
  • Hydrate regularly and limit use to 10-minute intervals, taking breaks between sessions.
  • Never use these facilities alone. Immediately notify staff if someone appears unwell.

Health and Hygiene

  • Do not enter these areas if you or your dependents have had gastrointestinal illness within the past 14 days.
  • Showering is mandatory prior to entering pools, spas, sauna, or steam room.
  • All users with incontinence must wear appropriate waterproof garments. Proper hygiene and disposal of nappies is expected.
